  • Web: Modernista!

People either hate it or make a lame copy(-ish) version of it of it, but the fact is that Modernista!’s new site is absolutely remarkable. Tim Blount, who created this piece of internet art, really manage to convey that not only does Modernista! get the web – Modernista! is the web. All of it.

The site opens a small (ugly) menu in the top left. So far, so good. But when you click on about, you get the option to be taken to the company’s Wikipedia entry, Facebook page or bookmark it on Magnolia or one of the countless other social bookmarking sites. They display the advertising work they’ve done through links to Youtube and flickr, and the news section is presented through Google news.

And I love it. I don’t care what the reactions have been at Wikipedia. All that is different is shunned in the beginning – this is a site that’ll go down in the books. Or rather, the web.
