My valentine(s), and the project I dedicate to them

It’s the fourteenth of February. Valentine’s Day. Today is the day when you either feel those fuzzy butterflies in your belly or that sweet poke of a rusty sword jabbed into your chest. The blogosphere will complain about the day, the newspapers publish love stories and all jewelry stores triple their profit. Lovers cuddle and singles shudder.

I’d like to dedicate this valentine’s day to all of my friends. You are great, and mean everything to me.

So, I’d like to announce a project that I want to do with all of you. It’s a project that will take a long time – years, probably – and focus on you.

You are special, and I’d like to embrace that. Together with you I want to arrange a picture that, somehow, captures your essence. I will publish these pictures on a website with it’s own domain name along with a short descriptive text. I envision these images to be rather surrealistic rather than straightforward portraits, and the text to be short but capturing. It will be my digital My best friends-book, available for me to see wherever I am.

Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to you later.

For now, just know that you are my valentine and that I love you.
