Evaluating Open Visitors Day

Do you know what you actually just said?

Every year the southernmost regiment in Sweden, P7 Revingehed, invite everyone to their open visitors day. Here you can see performances, look at equipment, climb on vehicles and much more related to the Swedish Armed Forces. Considering the number of visitors - about 30 000 every year - the event has always been successful. But do the regiment make the most of this platform?

Me and a dedicated team conducted an extensive survey that evaluated how well the regiment reached their target audience and what they said, together with a few suggestions of improvement. The report was well-received and several changes implemented.

Update: When P7 Revingehed redid the event in 2008 they implemented a slew of changes. It was so successful that it was considered the best open visitors day of all the Swedish regiments! The project manager called me and my team up afterwards just to let us know that many of the changes wouldn’t have been done without this report. That’s more than enough to make you smile for the rest of the day.
